about

This is about as autobiographical as I get - and dedicated to itinerant musicians everywhere. I love being home, but I get restless. It's out in the world where I see so much and meet such amazing people. I love my job, and I'm well suited for it. Chicken or egg?

lyrics

Jump Up and Go
©Evie Ladin, Evil Diane Music

Home again home again flying through time
Black midnight highway, red neon signs
I can’t hold my head up my bones aren’t stacking
They all fall down on the floor

Chorus
But give me a moment and you’ll find me restless
Jump up, head out on the road
A few days of life on a schedule
You’ll find me ready to jump up and go

I know that home sweet feeling they sing about
That feeling I’ve been here before
Same old worn floorboards, the cracks in the ceiling
I love coming home

Chorus

Twice in my life I have come close to dying
Narrowly missing the end
If this is my one chance, i’m going to take it
Do everything that’s in my head

Going to see what the world has to offer
How all you people live
Then I click my heels three times together
Cause there’s no place like home

Chorus

Hit the road been home too long ain’t no use in hanging on
I’m going where the water tastes like wine
Hit the road been home too long ain’t no use in hanging on
I’m going where the climate suits my clothes
I’m going where the chilly winds don’t blow

When I get tired I know where my home is
The feeling I’ve been here before
Out the back door and into the garden
I love coming home

Chorus
