about

Seriously, I have traveled around the country so many times and it’s harder and harder to find local spots that make the miles worthwhile. Everything is getting bought up and homogenized. I thought this country was about celebrating individuality, yet we’re sold on the same crap no matter where we go.

lyrics

CHORUS
New York to New Orleans
Every point in between
San Francisco, Baltimore
I’ve been almost everywhere
Everywhere ain’t worth it anymore
if it all comes from the same store.

I ain’t no johnny cash
never claimed to be
but still i got the gas
pedal riding under me
my job it takes me on the road
riding, rolling, gotta drive
i’ve paid off all i owed
never had a 9-5

the more the years go by
every exit looks the same
i can’t believe my eyes
the homogeneity
micky d’s, box o’jack
shells and gulfs a mile wide
family diners get a stack
of precut precooked freeze dried fries

CHORUS
CHORUS INST
VERSE INST

no matter where you are
you don’t have to talk to folk
you don’t have to leave your car
do your business by remote
Everywhere ain’t worth it anymore
if it all comes from the same store.

in my home town
they’re tearing pretty houses down
behind them rise and rise
boxes filled with boxes no surprises
Everywhere ain’t worth it anymore
if it all comes from the same store.

That shirt says USA, but it’s made in Singapore
and it all comes from the same store

Cut down the Amazon, deliver it to your front door
and it all comes from the same store

Enough is enough, but more is more
and it all comes from the same store

New York to New Orleans
Every point in between
if it all comes from the same store.

San Francisco, Baltimore
I’ve been almost everywhere
if it all comes from the same store.

Everywhere ain’t worth it anymore
if it all comes from the same store.
